One of the nation's elite cornerback prospects is Rancho Cucamonga's (Calif.) Devin Ross. Ross just returned from unofficial visits to Washington and Cal and said he'll name his final five later in the month.
Ross, 5-11, 185 pounds wasn't able to make any of the spring camps or combines but did attend the Dewayne Walker DB camp where he drew raves and landed an offer from Michigan the following week.
Ross has offers from just about every school on his list minus the two in his own backyard.

"I just talked to Eric Bieniemy (UCLA RC) yesterday and he said they're going to offer me as soon as they get my latest transcripts," Ross said. "There were just a few things they needed to see and now that's all squared away, he said the offer is on the way. I've always liked UCLA so they're definitely on my list.
"With USC, I'm not sure what the deal is there. They're not really recruiting me at all. I know sometimes they like to wait a little longer to offer players, especially guys in-state but I it doesn't look like they're real interested right now."
Ross attended Washington's recent open house along with two of his close friends, Colton (Calif.) teammates Allen Bradford and Shareece Wright.
"I've known those guys since junior high," Ross said. "We all played on the same area basketball team and we've been planning this visit for a long time. I had a good time there. I like coach Willingham a lot and it was fun to check out the campus, the football facilities and meet the players. Washington is a very good school and all three of us had a good time and are definitely considering them right now.
"On the way home, I decided to stop and visit Cal and I found out they had offered me a long time ago but sent the offer to the wrong address. They even showed me in their database when the offer went out, it was months ago. Now that Cal has offered, I'm very interested in them. I got to watch a practice and talk to the coaches. It was cool."
Ross said he'll likely be taking an unofficial visit to Arizona later this week and already has an official visit set to Nebraska for (Sept. 2). As for narrowing his list, Ross said he along with Bradford and Wright all plan to do that on the same day.
"August 31, that's when all three of us are going to narrow it down to five," Ross said. "I don't know why we picked that date, we just decided that would be a good time to do it. Right now, I really don't know yet who will make the final five. Obviously Nebraska is one since I'm visiting there but I'm still trying to sort everything out but by the end of the month, I'll know."
Among the schools Ross is still looking at, in addition to Nebraska, to fill out his final five, are Washington, Cal, UCLA, Arizona, Oklahoma, Michigan, Colorado and Oregon. Check back on the last day of August to see who made the cut for the talented corner.
