Rose proving himself

TAMPA - When you're as big and athletic as Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson offensive guard Daron Rose you're going to have colleges chasing you from all over the place. He's collected offers from all over the South, but two schools may have a slight lead.
"I am trying to keep a low profile right now," Rose said. "I don't want too much attention on me. I was a little overweight during the spring and I have been working hard all summer in the weight room to trim down some. I was always one of the first ones in there and one of the last to leave over the summer. I wanted to show what I could do."

The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Rose attended the Miami NIKE camp where he ran the 40-yard dash in 5.79 seconds, the shuttle in 5.12 seconds, posted a 19-inch vertical jump.
"I only have two official visits set up at this point and thats Notre Dame and Florida State," Rose said. "You're not going to find a better tradition than at Notre Dame and they were the team I grew up pulling for as a kid. I love the staff at Florida state. When they call me it's not always about football, but more about life."
Rose is ranked as the No. 3 offensive guard in the nation, the No. 4 player in Florida and the overall No. 30 player in the nation by Rivals.com.
