Rollmann likes Hogs and Horned Frogs

Burnet, Texas offensive lineman Eddie Rollman is deep into two-a-day practices as he and his teammates prepare to defend their 2002 state title. But, the beginning of the season doesn’t slow down the mail from recruiters.
“Eddie began two-a-days last week,” Ed Rollmann, Sr. said. “They have been practicing from 4:00 until 9:00 each evening. Lately, the temperature has been into the 100’s which are record highs for this time of year. The coaches are doing the necessary things to keep everyone safe.”

Six scholarship offers now sit in the Rollmann household. Arkansas, SMU, Houston, Arizona, Georgia Tech and Tulsa hope their early offers might land them the 6-foot-4, 280-pounder.
“Those are the ones who have offered,” the elder Rollmann said. “But he is also getting heavily recruited by several others. A lot of handwritten litters have been coming lately.”
Purdue, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Utah and Wyoming have been expressing their interest lately.
“Playing in the state championship game brought a lot of attention to him,” he said. “When you play at that high of a level of a game, there are going to be a lot of coaches around watching.”
Rollmann did visit Arkansas, TCU and SMU for camps this summer.
“Texas A&M told him he is near the top of their offensive line,” Rollmann said. “They are one of his favorite teams. Arkansas and SMU are right up there too. They are the top two among teams that have offered.
“Arkansas’ facilities are very nice. The coaches are very personable. TCU has a good team too and they are very appealing.”
Don’t look for an early decision from the two-star rated offensive lineman.
“We won’t commit until after the season,” he said. “And we are predicted to go deep into the season, so that will keep him from doing that until later. His family would like to see him in the Big 12 Conference. That would allow us to see him play a little more often. But, it is his choice.”
