Rogers hopeful for Kentucky offer

Wide receiver Chester Rogers of Huntsville (Ala.) Lee has been quite busy this fall, and he's perfectly fine with that. Through six games, the 6-feet, 180-pounder has 34 receptions for 335 yards and seven touchdowns.
"I'm really the only receiver we have right now," Rogers said. "Our other receiver has been hurt. I've been playing good I think."

Rogers' showing thus far apparently has caught the attention of one Southeastern Conference program.
"I hear from Kentucky [assistant] Tee Martin every week," Rogers said. "Basically, he says he's pushing for me. He said as soon as he gets the green light he's going to offer."
Should that offer come, the Wildcats would become the team to beat. In fact, Rogers said there's even a chance he might just commit.
"It's possible," he said. "I really like them. Everybody wants to play in the SEC. It's kind of a big deal. I'd have to sit down and talk with my parents. I'm not going to rush into anything. I don't want to put anybody ahead of anybody but I like them a lot."
Though Rogers has several offers, Arkansas State and Memphis are the only two FBS schools to pull the trigger at this point.
"I talk to Memphis like every week, and Arkansas State every week," Rogers said. "Arkansas State was at my school on Friday. They were talking about getting me up there for an official. I want to take my officials as soon as possible."
