Roenker leads the way at Cox

Virginia Beach (Va.) Cox head coach Steve Allosso claims he has two prospects to watch in 2008. Leading the way for the school is 6-foot-2, 230-pound tight end Jeff Roenker.
"Jeff runs like a deer and is very feet," he said. "He's got a great physique and is strong as hell.

"He was our starting tight end and defensive end last year and is a very athletic player that is big and can move. He makes plays and could be a major college candidate. There's no question he'll play I-AA football no matter what."
Currently Connecticut has been the only college taking an interest in Roenker.
Meanwhile, 6-foot-0, 180-pound athlete Chandler Fenner is another player to keep an eye on.
"He's real versatile and caught 22 passes for us last year, ran the ball and played cornerback," he said. "He's a multipurpose player that we're very excited about. He has all the attributes, speed, size and athleticism. Now he just has to put that performance on the field."
Finally, Allosso is very excited about his 2009 kicker, 5-foot-10, 165-pound Drew Jarrett.
"He's a tremendous player and probably our best overall football prospect," he said. "He's special and a student of the position. He does everything the football players do, working out with us and he's going to be phenomenal. He's one of those kids that come along every twenty years.
"Last year he made 10 of 15 field goals and three of them were past forty yards. He did all that with three snappers and two holders. His misses, three of the five were over 50-yards and his long in practice is 55-yards. He also made every extra point."
