Rodriguez lands offer No. 1

Hacienda Hts (Calif.) Los Altos athlete Raymond Rodriguez is one of the most versatile players in the state this year. He could play a number of positions in college and just picked up his first offer on Tuesday.
Rodriguez, 6-1, 240 pounds put up big numbers on both sides of the ball last season. At tight end, he caught 31 balls for 418 yards and nine touchdowns to go with 53 tackles and 11 sacks at defensive end.

He earned 1st team all-league honors on both sides and 1st team all-CIF at tight end.
"Louisiana Tech just offered me," Rodriguez said. "I was excited, it's always good to get that first offer. I'm definitely interested in them. I probably won't get out there for an unofficial visit because of the distance but I do like them a lot.
"Oregon is the other school that is recruiting me pretty hard right now. I've been in touch with them and they told me they're going to get back to me next week about an offer. I guess they will be meeting to go over all their top prospects and that's when they'll decide on who to offer.
"It would be cool to get some Pac 10 offers but I'm just being patient and enjoying the process right now. Everyone is recruiting me as an athlete and no one has really specified where they want me. Louisiana Tech said they just want to get me on campus and then they'll find the best place for me."
