Rodriguez can play on both sides of the ball

Hacienda Hts (Calif.) Los Altos athlete Raymond Rodriguez is one of the most versatile players in the West region. He had a dominant year at both tight end and defensive end a year ago and is being recruited as an athlete right now.
Rodriguez, 6-1, 240 pounds put up big numbers on both sides of the ball last season. At tight end, he caught 31 balls for 418 yards and nine touchdowns to go with 53 tackles and 11 sacks at defensive end.

He earned 1st team all-league honors on both sides and 1st team all-CIF at tight end.
"Most of the schools like me as an athlete right now," Rodriguez said. "I don't really have a preference but I think my best position down the line might be as an H-back type. I could also play fullback, tight end or on the defensive line as well and I'm open to any of those positions."
On the recruiting front, Rodriguez is still waiting for his first offer but is hearing from several schools all over the region and beyond.
"The schools recruiting me are Boise State, Utah, Washington, Colorado, San Jose State and Michigan. My top five right now would be UCLA, USC, San Jose State, Colorado and Washington.
"I'm going to camp with UCLA and USC and will also take an unofficial visit at Colorado while I'm up there for the NIKE Camp. I was supposed to attend the NIKE camp at USC but I sprained my ankle the week of the camp but I should be good to go for the camp in Boulder."
