Rodgers to choose after visits

Na'Ty Rodgers was interviewed at the Chesapeake Bowl and he said he would be announcing his decision at the Under Armour All-American Game. However, much to the chagrin of many fans and coaches, the offensive tackle from Pomfret (Md.) McDonough did not make his announcement yet but he does have a plan in mind.
"It was a lot better competition than the Chesapeake Bowl," said the 6-foot-5, 278-pound Rodgers. "It was some of the best guys out there. It was a great experience."

What prevented Rodgers from making his choice of January 4th?
"Some family issues came up so I decided not to commit during the game," he explained. "At first the organizers said all my family couldn't come up on the stage. That's when I decided not to commit then. By the time they said it was going to be ok, it was too late to change my mind and I was too focused on the game at that point.
Rodgers has formed a plan of action that will lead up to his decision.
"I'll make my decision after these last two visits," said Rodgers. "I'm going to South Carolina on January 18th and Florida Statethis weekend (January 11th)."
Maryland and South Carolina have been the top two schools for Rodgers for a long time now so why have the Seminoles now jumped into the picture?
"I really enjoyed the conversation I had with Coach Trickett after the game so I'm going to go see what it's like down there," he said. "I really want to see what they have going on down there to see if they have a chance."
Rodgers thinks his good friend Yannick Ngakoue will be visiting South Carolina with him.
"I'm going to go down to South Carolina by myself to see how it is being there without my family and what it would be like living there," said Rodgers.
Rodgers expects to make his decision in the few days after his visit to South Carolina.
