Rockford RB draws 2nd Big Ten offer

Rockford (Ill.) Guilford junior running back prospect Deon Williams Jr. (6-foot-0, 200 pounds) added his second scholarship offer last Wednesday when Purdue University extended Williams Jr. a scholarship offer. The Boilermakers join Illinois in offering Williams Jr. a scholarship.
"I received an offer from Purdue last week," Williams Jr. said. "Coach Mark Hagen is my recruiting coach and he made an in school visit last week and told my coach that Purdue was offering me a scholarship. I spoke with Coach Hagen later that night and he confirmed the scholarship offer."

Williams Jr. is excited about his latest offer from the Boilermakers
"Purdue is recruiting me as a running back, and I'm really excited to land an offer from them. I made an unofficial visit to Purdue a few months back for a Junior Day event. It was beautiful, and my parents felt the same way. I really liked the campus and the facilities at Purdue, it's a big campus and school but it also doesn't feel too overwhelming at the same time. I also like the coaches at Purdue."
Williams Jr. also has been drawing phone calls and in school visits from a handful of schools this spring.
"I've received calls from Purdue, Illinois, Iowa and Northern Illinois so far. Iowa, NIU and Purdue have all made in school visits, and Illinois is expected to make an in school visit later this week."
Williams Jr. is also getting ready for a busy summer schedule.
"I'm looking at really getting out to several one-day camps this summer. I'm going to camp at Iowa on June 4th, then I'm going to trey and fit in as many one day camps as I can. I need to see what our team schedule looks like before I can commit to any additional college camps."
