Rockette sets first visit

Olive Branch, Miss., outside linebacker Jeremy Rockette is one of those sleeper prospects that few are talking about that could end up making a very big splash in the recruiting pond. He already has two Division I offers and more could be on the way.
“Right now I have offers from Memphis and Southern Miss,” Rockette said. “I have an official visit set up with Memphis for January 11. I have been to a couple of Memphis games this year and I have been to Mississippi State and Ole Miss once.”

At 6-foot-3, and 200 pounds, Rockett runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds. Although being recruited as a strong safety or blitzing outside linebacker, he was named first ream all region as a junior defensive end.
“Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Alabama all have been calling me and keeping up with me and are recruiting me pretty hard,” Rockette said. “Right now I am just looking at all of my options. I never really had a favorite team growing up or anything.”
So far through 11 games this season Rockette has 40 tackles and 12 sacks. A four year starter for Olive Branch, he is currently rated the No. 29 prospect in Mississippi, after recording eight sacks and 44 tackles (18 solos) last season.
