Roccos ready for his turn

Athletes seem to be available in the state of Ohio by the handful year after year. When it comes time for teams to focus on recruiting for the year 2007 expect teams from all around the country to be invading the Ohio borders trying to land some of the top players in the country.
Westerville (Ohio) South athlete Rocco Pentello appears to be one of the highly recruited players from the state. After already receiving mail from the entire Big Ten to go along with Notre Dame, Florida State, Oklahoma, Alabama, and a host of others a few teams have already caught the talented junior's eyes.

"A few teams are sticking out more than others right now," Pentello said. "Ohio State, Notre Dame, Iowa, Michigan State and Florida State are the ones I like. I haven't narrowed it down to those teams, but I like them the most right now."
Despite already having a top five list he still maintains he has yet to count any schools out as a possibility. Over the summer he intends to see several schools to get a feel for the schools that have interest in him.
"I'll be going to as many senior one-day camps as I can make," he said. "I want to get my name out there as much as I can. Coaches will be at those camps to watch so those are a high priority for me this summer."
Schools appear to be torn between wanting Pentello as a safety or a dual-threat quarterback. He would prefer to have the ball in his hands at the collegiate level, but he will play defensive back if that is where coaches feel he is most suitable to play.
"I think the schools are pretty split," he said. "A lot of teams want me for quarterback and others want me to play defensive back. At this point I don't really care which one I play. I'll play whichever one will get me on the field."
As a junior, Pentello led his Westerville South Wildcats to an 8-2 record.
