Robinson talks new interest

Curtis Robinson started talking seriously with the UCLA coaching staff last week and he attended the Bruins' win over Arizona Saturday at the Rose Bowl.
The 2016 three-star prospect from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei had a great time and hopes to get more serious with UCLA as his junior season winds down.

"I was there for the game and it was great," Robinson said. "I got there pretty early so I got to eat in the recruit room, I got to meet up with some of the players and I saw (former Mater Dei standout) Thomas Duarte. That was pretty cool and that added to the experience. I was there with Frank Martin as well.
"The whole experience was really cool. The whole pre-game experience being on the field was really good and the game was great because they won. Afterward, I visited the locker room with some of the other recruits and I got to see the post-game experience and be a part of that."
Robinson, who plays linebacker and wide receiver, said he started talking to UCLA assistant coach Kennedy Polamalu last week and even though he hasn't been offered yet it looks like things are picking up in a good way.
"The real first contact I had with them was on Thursday," Robinson said.
"I called coach Polamalu and he gave me the background that they watched some of my film, they like the way I play. No offer yet and they didn't really specify what's necessary for an offer but they did say they like how I play mostly at linebacker."
So far, the Mater Dei standout has been offered by Boston College, Duke and Washington. Cal and Texas A&M continue to show interest as well. With so much going on and it still being so early, Robinson said he doesn't have any frontrunners at this point.
"It's too early for that especially this soon in the recruiting process," Robinson said. "I really don't have a favorite yet. It's just good to have those three just in general."
