Robinson surprised by offer, has summer plans

Denton (Texas) Guyer 2017 Rivals100 quarterback Shawn Robinson continues to add offers and on Thursday he added another national program to his list. The Alabama Crimson Tide reached out and let it be known that the 6-2, 195-pound dual-threat quarterback held an offer.
"It kind of surprised me because I haven't heard anything from Alabama before. And Alabama recruits nothing but big time players and they've never come to me," Robinson said. "Then they just offered me. I don't know it was just crazy talking to Nick Saban. It was just crazy."

As he thinks back on hearing Nick Saban say a scholarship offer was on the table, Robinson still has trouble finding the right words.
"It caught me off guard. It's crazy. Just the whole situation is crazy," Robinson said. "I really can't explain it. It's just crazy. I never thought I'd be hearing Nick Saban saying that."
He does not have anything scheduled but the offer has put Alabama on his mind, and a summer visit is something he wants to try and make happen.
"Nothing is 100-percent but I have a pretty good guage," Robinson said. "Probably Ole Miss, LSU, most likely Alabama, USC, and there's some more but I'm not remembering. I have it like on a calendar."
Robinson may also attend a camp at Oklahoma this summer.
He has not taken many visits this spring, but he was able to take a few visits His most recent was a stop through Waco to check out Baylor.
"What stood out was when I was talking to the coaches and stuff and being around the players I felt comfortable talking and being myself," Robinson said. "The intensity of the practice was good. Everything was good. The facilities were nice. But what stood out was how comfortable the atmosphere was."
He was also able to check out TCU this sprng.
"It was good. It was pretty much the same thing as Baylor," Robinson said. "I have a really good relationship with the coaching staff over there."
At this point in the recruiting process he is not ready to declare any leaders.
"Honestly, I don't really have any leaders right now because I've only been to TCU and Baylor visiting so I haven't been able to see all those colleges," Robinson said. "So I'm not sure yet, but I'm hoping soon."
