It's another strong year in New Jersey next season and linebacker Lamont Robinson is a big reason for that. Robinson, 6-2, 225 pounds from Salem (N.J) has a host of offers and favors a pair of schools who just shared the National Championship a year ago.
Robinson had a big junior season on both sides of the ball. As the team's fullback, Robinson rushed 35 times for 650 yards and scored five touchdowns. Defensively, he totaled 85 tackles, three quarterback sacks, forced three fumbles and picked off two passes. He earned first team all-conference, first team all-area and first team all-South Jersey for his efforts.
On the recruiting front, Robinson has been offered by Syracuse, Rutgers, Virginia, Maryland and Boston College and is also hearing from Virginia Tech, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Iowa, Nebraska, Miami, USC, South Carolina and Tennessee.
"LSU and USC are my top two schools right now followed by Ohio State, Michigan and Miami," Robinson said. "I'm looking for a school that I'll be able to play early at, that has a chance to win a National Championship and has great tradition. I think all five of my schools fit that pretty well."
Academically, Robinson is carrying a 4.3 GPA and wants to major in Communications. He'll attend the Nike Camp at Penn State in May as well the Stump Mitchell Football camp.
