Robinson, Cwynar ready for ND future

SAN ANTONIO - For Omaha (Neb.) Elkhorn offensive lineman Trevor Robinson and Woodstock (Penn.) Marian Central Catholic defensive tackle Sean Cwynar, this week's U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio is the start of a relationship that will carry over to Notre Dame for the next four years.
Robinson and Cwynar will both enroll early at Notre Dame and begin classes on Jan. 15. The two linemen are the only two December graduate's in Charlie Weis's highly ranked 2008 recruiting class.

"Me and Sean (Cwynar) came in on our flight together and we'll be rooming together when we get to South Bend for classes in January," Robinson said. "I'm real excited to get down there to get things started up."
Cwynar said he's very excited to be a part of this outstanding Notre Dame recruiting class, which has a record number of Army All-Americans this week representing them in San Antonio.
"I have no second thoughts at all and I'm very, very confident in my decision," Cwynar said. "I'm just ready to get there for classes."
"It's cool just hanging out with my future teammates and just getting the chance to talk to them. It's going to be a lot of fun getting down to Notre Dame playing with them."
Robinson said the biggest challenge for him this week will be adjusting to pass pro blocking. In high school, Robinson rarely got the opportunity to do pass pro, but so far through two days of practice it hasn't been a problem for him in San Antonio.
"I've worked on my pass pro and I think I've improved on it," Robinson said. "It's definitely something I didn't get to do a lot of in high school. It will be an adjustment, but I'll do ok."
Cwynar said he consider his strength just his overall ability to play hard on every single play.
"I think I'm pretty strong and I play tough and play hard," Cwynar said. "I just think my work ethic really helps me out."
What both players seem to be the most excited about is playing a part in helping Weis bring Notre Dame football back to the top.
The past two seasons Weis has brought in top 10 recruiting classes to South Bend, and this year's class is currently ranked No. 1 in the latest Rivals.com recruiting rankings.
"On paper this class looks like it's going to put us over the top and get us to the next level," Cwynar said. "That's where Notre Dame football should be. I think it's going to really be great. We're going to be great as a class."
