Robinson back from Notre Dame

Curtis Robinson had a lot of respect for Notre Dame before his weekend visit. He left South Bend with even more and the four-star said his trip went extraordinarily well.
"It went great," Robinson said. "I loved it out there. Everything I got to experience was awesome. I really got to see everything football- and academic-wise.

"I got to see all the facilities and the weight room. I got to meet with all the coaches. An equal amount of time was spent showing me the university and the traditional stuff at Notre Dame. I got to meet with Adam Sargent who's in charge of academics for the football team and he talked to me about how he helps out the football team and sets up their study schedule.
"I got to tour the campus and I got to see everything Notre Dame had to offer."
The Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star athlete, who probably projects as an outside linebacker in college but he also plays wide receiver, saw everything and liked it a whole lot.
The structure and the feeling at Notre Dame remind him a lot of his high school - a traditional powerhouse in Southern California - and it's something to seriously consider.
"I already thought highly of Notre Dame prior to the visit and after going it just kind of really reiterated what I thought and proved to me what I thought about it," Robinson said. "It amazed me how similar it is to Mater Dei and that stood out to me. It's a system I'm used to and a system I'm comfortable in. That was one of the standouts of the trip.
"They would like for me to make the decision sooner rather than later but they weren't too pressuring. They mentioned it a couple times about a timeline or a timeframe but they didn't pressure too much for a decision."
The four-star standout is not sure of a commitment time yet. He will visit Stanford (also considered one of the favorites) for its junior day in early April. UCLA is also a serious contender (his mother is a Spanish professor there and he recently had an excellent visit). Robinson has also visited USC and California and would like to visit Michigan and Ohio State but those Big 10 trips might not be possible soon.
After the Stanford visit, Robinson said he'll have a much better idea where his recruitment stands and the next step in the process can occur.
"Stanford will probably be the last visit I take that's not local," Robinson said. "I might have an idea then really what I want to do. It might not be a commitment at that point. It might just be narrowing down the list."
The Mater Dei prospect finished with 40 tackles, four sacks and an interception in his junior season.
