Robey picks up a trio of offers

Nickell Robey is a terrific prospect in all three phases of football. Robey, 5-8 and 165 pounds, is from Frostproof (Fla.) High School and he's a star on offense, as a defensive back and on special teams. Going into this week he had scholarship offers from teams all over the nation – Florida, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Stanford, Tennessee,West Virginia, Clemson and others. Today, he received three big ones – Ohio State, Michigan and UConn.
"I know a little about Ohio State," Robey said. "I like their offense and defensively they are always good. They had a good corner in (Malcolm) Jenkins. They like me on both sides of the ball.

"Michigan said I can play on both on offensive and defensive at receiver and corner. That's pretty appealing and they want to involve me in special teams.
"I know UConn came to a couple of my games and they say they like what I do."
So where do things stand with Robey and does one team stand out?
"I have one particular favorite and that school is Miami. I just love their defense. I like the tradition and history, especially of their defensive backs. I think they will offer but they didn't come through yet."
Robey says he will attend a spring football practice at Florida and will go to the Georgia spring game. He's currently participating in track and is the No. 1 long jumper in the state and No. 2 in the nation. He's personal best is 24'. Robey also triple jumps (46') and runs the 100 meters (10.6).
