Robertson gets closer to decision

Zach Robertson wants to make his commitment soon, it could come before Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco's next game, but he still plans a full load of official visits as well.
"My friend Eric (Golston) just got hurt, tore his ACL and everything," Robertson said. "Just in case something happens and spots are filling up, you don't want to be that guy at the end of the season where the coach says you have to go somewhere else because they don't have any more offers."

Those are some of the reasons why the four-star offensive tackle wants to get his decision done in the next week or so. UCLA is considered to be a frontrunner but Robertson said his visits will also play a major factor as he considers other programs.
Rated as the No. 19 offensive tackle in the 2015 class by Rivals.com, Robertson is planning to visit LSU for the Ole Miss game, Michigan for its matchup against Penn State and Arizona State when it hosts Notre Dame.
The other trips are still being worked out but it looks like UCLA will definitely get one. Robertson said USC, Washington and Texas A&M are being seriously considered for his final visit.
"With ASU telling me I'm the top guy on their board and going out there, seeing what it's like and going out-of-state, sometimes being in-state is comforting and going out-of-state you learn to grow as a man," Robertson said.
"Even if I make my decision, going to the visits will give me insight on how the teams play, their depth and just the atmosphere."
This past weekend was a little scary for St. John Bosco which found itself trailing 14-7 in the third quarter to a tough Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic squad. But then the run game opened up, Bosco wore its opponent down and cruised to a 42-14 win.
"We've always been a second half team even when we were down in Chandler (last season) we got in the locker room and rallied together," Robertson said.
"The coaches talked to us and we figured out we need to be more physical than them and establish a running game. They put five guys in the box and we have five guys on the line so it's basically who's got the better five. We told ourselves we're going to fire off and get physical and establish a run game and our running backs made good plays."
