Robertson broadening his outlook

Just three weeks ago, Fort Wayne (Ind.) Wayne defensive end Auston Robertson had narrowed his focus to three schools. A few recent visits, however, have expanded his outlook.
One of those trips took place just this past weekend when he visited Vanderbilt while in Nashville to attend a camp.

"I actually received an offer from them down there," Robertson said. "It surprised me how close the college is to the city and the campus was pretty cool. I talked to the head coach and he gave us a good speech talking about how he was at Stanford and how he wants to change the program around. I am going to look more into them before June 7."
The June 7 date is big because that is when Robertson plans to announce his college decision. Michigan State, Notre Dame and Ohio State have been the three schools at the top of his list, but they may be getting some company.
"Those are my top three, but I am liking Wisconsin a little bit too," Robertson said. "I visited their campus last weekend and spoke with most of their coaches. They were all super cool and made me feel welcome. It was still cold outside and nobody was really out, so I might take another trip over there sometime when the snow melts."
The next college visit Robertson plans is to Michigan State later this month. He is also looking into a visit to Nebraska during his spring break.
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Robertson is ranked as the No. 202 player overall and the No. 9 defensive end in the 2016 class.
