IN HIS WORDS: Robertson tells why each of his top five made the cut.
"The University of Iowa was my first offer so I felt they had a real interest in me and saw what kind of player I was. All of the coaches are real up front and I feel they have an honest staff.
"The University of Tulsa, they came in a little late, but when I took my visit I really enjoyed it and loved the campus and everything. I really like their scheme. They run an attack style defense which I fit perfect as a pass rusher and everything. They have a great staff up there too.
"UTSA has a great program too. What really stuck out to me was their defensive line coach, who would be my position coach, he was a great guy and a great teacher. He takes the time out to teach the kids great techniques and will have them knowing what they're doing wrong instead of just pulling them out and putting the next guy in. He tries to teach them and let them learn from their mistakes. That stuck out to me the most.
"Kansas State offered me pretty early too. I took a trip up there a couple of weeks ago. They have a great facility and a winning program. I feel like I'm a winner and they know how to win so I feel like I could fit in well in their program. Their defense, they said I would come in as a three technique, which isn't bad because I've played across the d-line. So I think they will help develop me as a player down the road.
"SMU, I like SMU because it was closer to home and all my family can see me play and coach Wyatt he's a great guy. He's real funny and active and he motivates the players a lot. He would be my position coach."
THE LATEST: Robertson will announce his commitment at the Bishop Dunne Media Day on Friday evening. He admits he has known his decision since early in the week. This summer, He visited Kansas State, Tulsa, UTSA, and SMU, and regardless of his choice he plans to visit Iowa in the future.
ANALYST TAKE: Forced to make a prediction, Kansas State is the pick. He has visited Manhattan recently, and he the Wildcats have a long standing relationship with the Dallas standout. Keep an eye on Tulsa too. The Golden Hurricane have made quite an impression in a short time.
