Roberts recrutiment remains fluid

Recruiting is, by its very nature, unstable. That's news to nobody. Visit dates are regularly cancelled and commitments are routinely broken. It's just how things work. When a prospect names a favorite, it's always subject to change. And in the case of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Community College defensive end Austin Roberts, it has down just that.
It wasn't long ago that Roberts, the No. 21-ranked junior college player in America, went on record saying Miami led his recruitment. When the three-star prospect rattled off his frontrunners on Thursday, however, the Hurricanes were nowhere to be found. The list he presented at that time had a fresh feel.

"My lead schools would probably be either Nebraska or Oregon," Roberts said.
And while he's still waiting on an offer from the Ducks, the Huskers seem to be positioned well to land his commitment down the road. Then again, it seems as though things on that front could change quickly … again.
"LSU, Oregon, Oklahoma all asked for my transcripts," Roberts said. "Those are the newest schools. They are just waiting to see my grades are up to par before they decide what to do for sure. I sent them to LSU today."
Roberts says he is expecting to hear about an offer from Oregon in the next or so because the Ducks coaching staff is still awaiting his transcript. He intends to visit Louisiana-Lafayette, Oregon and Nebraska, but no dates have been set as of now.
And so Roberts will wait, not just for schools to review his transcripts but also for a feeling to strike. With things as they relate to his recruitment so uncertain, he declines to speak in absolutes. That goes doubly when the topic is a decision date.
"I'm just going to weigh my options," Roberts said. "I want to go to a good school and I don't want to wait too long to choose, so I'll just pick when I feel like I can."
