New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine is home to several talented standouts in the 2014 class. Running back Leonard Fournette has been attracting interest since his freshman year, but as college coaches have stopped by they have discovered there are others who stand out in their own right.
St. Augustine defensive back Jermaine Roberts has emerged on the radars of several college programs. The 5-11, 180 pound defender has shown the ability to line up at cornerback or safety, and the college offers are being placed on the table.
"As of now I have Tulane, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Texas A&M, UCLA, and Kentucky," Roberts said.
With junior day season already in full swing he does have a few trips in mind. He plans to attend Florida State's junior day on February 2 and was unable to make it to the Texas A&M junior day this past weekend because he was participating in the NFL Prep 100 in New Orleans on Saturday and Sunday.
It is still early in the recruiting process and Roberts continues to take in all of his options, but he does have a couple of schools standing out.
"Right now it's Texas A&M and UCLA," Roberts said. "It's just the swagger that they have, and UCLA its not just football it's school. I want to major in engineering and they have good engineering program and Texas A&M does too."
As a junior Roberts earned all-state honors for his efforts.
