Roberson, Williams getting noticed

Somerville, Texas' Sam Roberson is one of those guys that can make a college recruiter look like a genius.
Roberson (6-4, 210-pounds) is a small-town kid with big-time potential as seen at the East Meets West All-American Game held in Orlando, Fla., just after New Years.

Now, schools including the likes of North Texas, TCU, Alabama, Clemson and California are taking a look at the Class 2A talent.
North Texas was first to offer, but had to reschedule his official visit due to inclimate weather. Roberson led his team to the playoffs as a receiver and defensive back. He had over 1,000 yards receiving in three interceptions.
"He's a rare talent," Somerville coach Rick Martinez said. "He's as good as I've ever had and I'm glad people are starting to recognize him."
Booker T. Washington's Jerald Williams took a different path. Williams (6-3, 200-pounds) came out for football this season after starring in basketball.
He was named the distict's Newcomer of the Year after a tremendous senior season at safety. Now the likes of Alabama, Clemson, Houston and Rice are entering the picture.
"He's a great athlete who could play a big corner or a run-supporting safety," Washington assistant coach Kerry Dixon said. "He's got great upside, grades, and can pick things up better than any kid I've had."
