Roach is ready to announce

Baton Rouge (La.) Madison Prep defensive end Malcolm Roach is nearing his decision. In fact, the 6-foot-4, 255-pound defender plans to announce his choice Friday morning.

THE LATEST: Roach has put a lot of thought into his college decision and he is now ready to make his choice. He will announce a decision on Friday morning from a final group of Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi State, Texas, and Texas Tech.

ANALYST TAKE: Roach is a big defender capable of playing a number of positions on the college level. He has played all over the defense at Madison Prep and he is being recruited as a hybrid outside linebacker-defensive end. His quick first step, his strength, and he nose for the football allow him to make plays all over the field.

RIVALS' REACTION: The finalist are Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi State, Texas, and Texas Tech. It will either be the Big 12 or the SEC. Both have had a strong pull throughout his recruiting process and he did recently mention Missouri and Mississippi State as visit possibilities.
