Roach focused on a few

Baton Rouge (La.) Madison defensive standout Malcolm Roach recently narrowed his list to N.C. State, Texas, California, Memphis, Texas Tech, Arizona, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Louisiana-Lafayette, Arkansas, and Missouri, but more cuts may come before the start of the season.

THE LATEST: Roach released his top 11, and could make his decision before the season. LSU was not in his top 11, but if the Tigers offer they would also be a team to watch. Right now SEC programs Mississippi State, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Missouri hold a slight edge. He does not have any visits scheduled but official visits to Cal and Missouri are in the planning stages. He is also looking at taking an unofficial visit to Texas A&M, and he mentioned the LSU/Alabama game as another potential unofficial visit.
IN HIS WORDS: "I've basically been saying if I don't commit before the season starts I'll probably just wait until Signing Day and let everything settle down. Or after the season some time."
ANALYST TAKE: Roach is being recruited as an outside linebacker and a defensive end and right now he says SEC programs Arkansas, Mississippi State, Missouri, and Tennessee have a slight edge. Of the four SEC programs keep an eye on the Tennessee Volunteers. Butch Jones and the Volunteers made a strong impression when he camped this summer, and he has quickly developed a strong bond with the coaches. An offer from LSU would put the Tigers high on the list as well.
