Rivers returns to PSU

It certainly looks like Penn State has positioned themselves well early in Dylan Rivers' recruitment. The sophomore linebacker from Stephens City (Va.) Sherando has only taken a handful of offers but most of them have been to Penn State.
"This was my third time visiting Penn State," said the 6-foot-3, 220-pound Rivers. "I didn't do the whole Junior Day because I've already done it. I just saw practice. The whole intensity aspect of it caught my eye. They were very intense, very fast. You couldn't really do something wrong or they would be on you.

"I picked how well the linebackers read blocks and how they bend their knees," he said. "I also saw their good club and rip moves. Those are the main aspects I saw."
Rivers continues to build a strong relationship with the coaches at Penn State.
"I got to talk to coach Pry and coach Franklin," Rivers said. "I told coach Pry how I was doing and all that good stuff. He told me that when I come in I would have a good chance of playing early. He wanted me to come to the spring game."
There are a couple visits Rivers is in the process of planning.
"I want to go up to Virginia Tech sooner or later for a practice," he said. "I'd also like to go back to Penn State for the spring game if I could. I'm just trying to get ready for the Rivals Camp."
Rivers isn't just interested in one in-state program.
"I tried calling coach Lewis at Virginia the other day," said Rivers. "He's my recruiter. He was out of town so I wasn't able to talk to him."
Rivers helped Sherando to a nine-win season last year.
