Rivals250 WR Xzavier Henderson previews Saturday commitment announcement

THE LATEST

SAN ANTONIO -- The Early Signing Period saw around 85 percent of the 2020 recruiting class sign, but there are still some pretty big names still on the market. One of those big names, Rivals250 Florida wide receiver Xzavier Henderson, will make his commitment during Saturday's All-American Bowl on NBC. Rivals.com caught up with Henderson to talk about his decision, including the two leading finalists, Clemson and Florida.

IN HIS WORDS

"I'm announcing during Saturday's game and I'm excited to make my decision. I didn't sign early, I'm going to sign in February but I know where I'm going. I'm going to have Georgia, Florida and Clemson hats on the table."

Clemson: "They are known as WRU and the good pitch from them is that they're a national championship team and they barely even talk about it. They just go about their business winning games. They want to develop you as a person and as a man before they do as a football player. Then, as an athlete on the field, they are known for producing great wide receivers. Their head coach started as a wide receivers coach and that's the position he knows best."

Wide receivers coach Jeff Scott departure to USF: "It was always his plan and one of his dreams to be a head coach some day. So I wasn't really surprised and that didn't effect my decision. Coach Grisham was working closely with him before and he's still there and he's pretty experienced and I think he can keep things rolling."

Playoff win: "It was crazy. I came back from being out and saw they were down and I saw the drive with Travis scoring to put them up. It was crazy."

Florida: "They have a good couple of wide receivers leaving, four seniors total, so there's going to be an opportunity to come in and play early as a freshman and make an impact. It kind of became my second home because I went up there to see my brother play so many times and watch him play."

Increased use of receivers in Florida offense: "I think Coach Mullen made that happen. When he came in he turned the offense around. Since last year to this year they've made a big improvement and I think a lot of that has to do with him. He spreads the ball around and gets the ball to a lot of people and make sure everyone gets their opportunities."
