Rivals250 WR takes first official

Four-star wide receiver Brandon Coleman took his first official visit this past weekend. The Forestville (Md.) Bishop McNamara prospect gave his taken on Rutgers following the trip.
"It went really well," he said. "It was my first official visit and I enjoyed it. A lot of it was planned for me.

"They took us out to dinner to ESPNZone. I met the players and coaches and went to the game."
Coleman was hosted on the trip by Mohamed Sanu.
"It was cool, he and I get along good," he stated. "Our personalities are similar and he's a funny guy. The players didn't really talk about Rutgers. They were just showing me how they have fun and they enjoy each other's company which is fine with me."
While on campus, Coleman took in the football game against West Virginia.
"It was a good game," he said. "They started off slow, but brought it within three. They had opportunities to break the lead, but couldn't get it going. They played well.
"I thought they have a good receiving corps. They already got a couple signed in this class. One thing that stood out to me was the competition. I don't have a problem competing for a spot."
On Sunday, the Rivals250 prospect met with Coach Schiano before heading out.
"It went well," he stated. "He and I talked and he's a real cool coach. He and I are eye-to-eye on some things. We had the same values and I think things might work out there.
"I won't make any decision yet though. I have more officials. One thing he did say was that 'We are who we are and they aren't going to change that.' I respect that a lot."
Next up for Coleman is a trip to Maryland this weekend.
"I just want to hang out with the players," he said. "I haven't really done that. I want to see what they are doing."
Coleman maintains he's down to three schools and is considering an official to Syracuse sometime in January.
As for a decision, it could be awhile.
"I'm planning to wait until Signing Day."
