Rivals250 WR checks out Texas

Dallas (Texas) First Baptist Academy 2016 Rivals250 wide receiver Camron Williams emerged on the scene during the spring and summer months, and the 6-foot-3, 200-pound former defensive end has already picked up offers from Oklahoma and TCU.
Over the weekend Williams made his way to Austin, Texas, to checkout Charlie Strong's Texas Longhorns.

"Oh yeah, I had a good time. I had a good time out there. I got to see the campus and things like that," Williams said. "It's a good environment to be around. I liked it. I had fun."
Williams arrived early and stayed late, and he was able to get to know the new Texas coaching staff.
"I showed up early in the morning for the scrimmage they had going on, so I got to see some of the guys fly around and play a little bit," Williams. "It was an eye opener for me right there. The coaching staff was nice. They showed me around and gave me a tour of the whole campus. They told me what life was like on the campus. I enjoyed it."
The standout receiver plans to return to Texas when the Longhorns face BYU, and he also hopes to attend games at TCU and Oklahoma.
It is still early in the recruiting process for Williams, and at this point he is not in a hurry to narrow his list. He is soaking in each and every experience, and enjoying the process.
"I'm just taking it day-by-day," Williams said. "My coach just told me not to even worry about recruiting yet. Just have fun playing football in high school. There will be a place that fits. I'm just taking it slow."
As a sophomore in 2013, Williams recorded one reception for 16 yards and recorded 13 tackles and a sack while playing tight end and defensive end in five games at Dallas (Texas) Woodrow Wilson. He is currently ranked No. 166 in the 2016 Rivals250, No. 29 among the nation's 2016 wide receivers, and No. 18 in the Rivals.com Texas Initial Top 75 for 2016.
