Rivals250 TE prepares for first unofficial

With a busy basketball schedule, Saddle Brook, N.J. tight end Justin Maneri has had little time to focus on recruiting. That is going to change for the Rivals250 prospect in the coming weeks as he plans to take at least a couple visits.
"I think this Saturday I'm going to be taking my first unofficial to Connecticut for their spring game," he said. "I've been talking to the coach from there for awhile. I've also been in touch with the coaches from North Carolina and Duke and am planning to go there Memorial Day weekend.

"On these visits, I just want to go and see the facilities. I've heard UConn is top notch and I want to see it for myself."
At this point, the 6-foot-8, 230-pounder still doesn't have an offer.
"Nobody has offered me yet, but schools are mentioning it. Hopefulyl something comes up soon," he said. "A lot of other colleges are showing interest including Temple, Syracuse, Wisconsin and more."
Does anyone currently lead for the Garden State prospect?
"It's all pretty open for me," he said. "I've got to visit these schools and then I'll know more about them.
"For me, I want a good education and somewhere I can go and have fun. Maybe if it's a warmer climate if I have enough of a choice that would be good too."
