Rivals250 RB Holyfield talks Auburn, Georgia

Class of 2016 Rivals250 running back Elijah Holyfield recently visited nearby Georgia twice in as many weeks, leading many Bulldogs fans to speculate that a commitment might be on the horizon. But the highly-recruiting running back said he's still not close to making the call for Georgia or any other school.
"I don't know where people get that from," Holyfield said. "I'm not planning in committing. The earliest would be right before the season, but that would be at the absolute earliest. People kind of get out hand when you go somewhere twice but that's just how it is sometimes."

So why did Holyfield make it a priority to get to Georgia twice in one month?
"I actually didn't have anything to do," he said. "There was a 7-on-7 up there and I knew some people that were going up there so I thought I would go up there too and chill. I just brought my coach but we just hung out and chilled."
While Holyfield is playing it cool when it comes to Georgia, it's clear they are still very much in the picture. The team that might be able to give the Dawgs the biggest challenge is Auburn, a school that has been high on his list for months.
"I'm trying to get to Auburn next week sometime but I'm not sure which date," Holyfield said. "Me and [Rivals100 ATH] Mecole [Hardman] are trying to go down there together. I want to get down there again and then get back to Alabama and Tennessee this summer."
Holyfield said he sees a lot of similarities between the two programs.
"I like Auburn, and obviously both them and Georgia have good tradition of running backs and that's the first thing that I've looked at," he said. "They're both real cool places, they're different but at the same time I could see myself at either place having success."
Holyfield's parents have also become more involved in the recruiting process over the past few months, but he said they are still letting him make the final call on where he goes to school.
"They're actually really laid back," he said. "They kind of let me do my own thing and they think the choices I have are really good choices so they're not to o demanding, they want me to make my own decision."
