Rivals250 presented by Under Armour and Immokalee (Fla.) running back D'Ernest Johnson committed to North Carolina without seeing the campus. After a visit last weekend, he decided he had pulled the trigger on a decision too soon.
"Yes, I de-committed," Johnson said. "I sat down and had a talk with my family, and we just want to slow this whole process down. I'm keeping all my options open and listening to what all the other coaches have to say."

Johnson had Florida as his leader for a long time but moved on from the Gators to the Tar Heels. He said this time he's planning on waiting until February to announce again.
"Everything was just moving too fast, and I want to slow it down," he said. "I'm trying to figure out what's best for me and my career."
There have been rumblings that it's only a matter of time before Johnson commits to Louisville, but he said that speculation is premature. When asked directly if the Cardinals are his leader, Johnson stopped short.
"Not really," Johnson said. "I'm just going to wait until signing day to make everything happen."
One school that could be in the mix if it shows more interest is LSU. Johnson said he's intrigued by the program.
"I want an offer from LSU," Johnson said. "Hopefully, they look at me this fall."
