Rivals250 RB close to a decision

Rumors are starting to pop up that Rivals250 running back Ryan Houston may commit to North Carolina in the next few weeks. The Matthews (N.C.) Butler star was in Chapel Hill recently to take in camp and visit the program.
"I was there, but I didn't participate in camp," he said. "I just watched some of my Butler teammates work out and then I visited the school for a bit. The visit was alright. I went and toured with Frank Cignetti and Dave Brock. Nothing stood out too much from my visit with them as they basically gave me the normal recruiting stuff talking about how much they want me there."

With rumors swirling about a possible early commitment, is Houston close to making a decision?
"I'll commit when I'm ready, but I'm not ready yet," he said. "I wouldn't even say I have a favorite. I still want to visit other schools and I may be going to some other camps. I have to see what else is up for my summer plans."
Though a decision doesn't seem imminent, the star runner is starting to get an idea of when he'd like to decide.
"Right now I'm thinking I'll do it either before or just after the season," he said. "I don't plan to do in the near future or during the season because I'm focused on helping our team to a state championship. At the moment, I'm actually hardly focusing on recruiting. I'm just working out trying to be the leader of my team this fall."
Houston is looking for a few things out of his future school.
"The biggest thing I want is to stay at running back. I don't want anyone to lie to me about playing another position. I also have no plan to redshirt wherever I go. Those are the things I'm looking for."
Houston ran for 1,914 yards and 34 touchdowns last season on his way to earning all-county and all-state honors.
