Rivals250 RB chooses Virginia

Pottstown (Pa.) Pottsgrove running back Brent Carter wrapped up his recruitment today when he gave the Virginia Cavaliers his verbal commitment. The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder called coach Bob Price and head coach Al Groh to tell them the news.
"They were both really happy, it sounded like they were just as happy as I was," he said. "I really felt the most comfortable there on my trip last weekend and I really liked the whole atmosphere surrounding the team. Everybody gets along and there is no separation amongst anybody.

"During the whole process, I really liked coach Price and Poindexter. Coach Poindexter is a real coach and you can talk to him about anything, while coach Price always kept me smiling and laughing."
The four-star running back is happy to have a decision over with.
"I feel good now to have it done because I get to focus on school and getting ready for college," he said. "I know coach Groh is known for playing freshmen early, so I'm planning to run track, start lifting again and work with a personal trainer to get myself focused."
Carter chose the Cavaliers over offers from Boston College, Minnesota, Penn State, Rutgers, Syracuse, West Virginia and others. The Rivals250 prospect is rated the No. 18 running back in the country and No. 9 player in Pennsylvania.
