Rivals250 QB Crest chooses WVU

Rivals250 quarterback William Crest ended his recruitment today by announcing that he has committed to West Virginia.
"I like the school and look at them as family," said the 6-foot-2, 195-pound Crest. "They constantly showed me that I could be a part of their family. The atmosphere out there is good also. That's why I chose the school. I'm not sure when I'll be out there next. I need to talk with my parents to see what I need to do.

"I talked to the coaches. I let them know I was committing last Friday and I talked to them this morning," he said. "I didn't let it be known until today. They sounded very happy and were very glad that I committed to them. I'm working to see early playing time. I don't want it to just be handed to me. I will work for it and if I work hard enough that starting position will be mine."
The commitment isn't much of a shocker. Tavon Austin and Marvin Gross are both Baltimore (Md.) Dunbar alums that chose to be Mountaineers but Crest said keeping that tradition alive was not a factor in his decision.
"No," Crest said firmly. "That's the school I wanted to go to whether Tavon went to or not. That's the school that I liked."
Crest said that North Carolina came in second, citing the fact they had quarterback Caleb Henderson commit recently.
