WHAT THE BUCKEYES ARE GETTING

McFadden is a brawler on the offensive line who is able to generate a really good push in the run game. He knows how to use his natural athleticism to be one of the more effective interior pass blockers in this class. He does a really good job of getting his hands on defenders quickly and has shown the ability to redirect them once he does. As a pass blocker, McFadden is quick into his stance and does a good job sliding laterally to keep the defender from getting into the backfield. He has a solid understanding of how to reset his hands as the play develops. McFadden will need to add mass to his frame before he’s ready to see the field on a consistent basis, but once he does he should become a really solid contributor upfront. He has some versatility which should allow him to play guard or center at the college level. He also has experience playing tackle which could come in handy in a pinch.

WHY IT'S BIG FOR OHIO STATE

Ohio State has been a long time leader for McFadden but there’s been a constant threat of Colorado moving in to push their advantage. The Buffs piqued McFadden‘s interest early thanks to his close friendship with former five-star Jordan Seaton. Nonetheless, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day and offensive line coach Justin Frye had circled McFadden on their board since early this offseason and made sure they stayed on top.
