Rivals250 OL Grimm letting things come to him

Rivals250 recruit Mike Grimm is taking his recruitment one step at a time. Offers continue to trickle in for the offensive lineman from Bethel Park (Pa.) but he is keeping a pretty level head.
"Lately, I've been talking to Pittsburgh, Georgia and Vanderbilt," said the 6-foot-7, 315-pound Grimm. "I talked to them about their school and the type of offense they run and that sort of stuff. Either Georgia or Vanderbilt might be the next offers because those are the two I've been talking to the most right now.
"My relationship with the Pittsburgh coaches is pretty good," he said. "I talk to Coach Hueber and Coach Chryst once a week or so. It's just easy for me and other guys like me and guys like Alex Bookser because it's right down the road. West Virginia isn't too far and Penn State isn't too bad of a drive either. I was supposed to go to the Blue and White game but I had a track meet."
Judging by those comments, it sounds like distance from home could be a deciding factor for Grimm. However, he says that is not the case.
"I've come to the conclusion that if I like the school enough and feel comfortable with the atmosphere I really don't think location will matter," Grimm said.
Offers are piling up for Grimm but he has a plan to not let things get out of hand.
"I definitely want to make my decision at an All-American game if I get invited but I really want to have a top five before I go into my senior season and only have to think about those five schools," he said. "I'm pretty sure Pittsburgh and Georgia will be in my top five. After Pittsburgh the rest of my top five will probably be SEC schools.
"I've been hearing from LSU a little bit and same with Alabama but heir recruiting coordinator for my area is in southern Florida," said Grimm. "I'm working on reconnecting with them. They would make my top five if they haven't offered but I would have to know that they would be close to offering because I don't know if I could consider going there without an offer."
Clearly the Panthers are one of Grimm's favorites and recently he got an up-close view of the team.
"Pittsburgh's spring game was at my high school," he said. "It was a really big honor for us to host Pittsburgh at our school and have them play on the same field that I usually play on. It was a good experience."
Grimm will be competing at the Rivals Camp Series Presented by Under Armour in Pittsburgh.
