Rivals250 LB talks Vols, Buckeyes

After taking a look at his transcripts and talking it over with his coaches and parents, Rivals250 Memphis (Tenn.) White Station linebacker Petera Wilson is close to making a decision that could have a big impact on his college decision.
"I've been thinking about graduating early so I can get to college quicker," Wilson said. "So I might have to start dialing down and get ready to make my decision. I think I might commit before the season now."

Wilson said early playing time at the next level is important to him, and arriving on campus sooner will help his cause.
"I do want to see early time on the field and being there for spring practice will help," he said. "I can show what I can do during the spring so when it comes time for fall I'll be ready."
Wilson said he's already told some schools but really needs to start thinking about who will be in his top 5.
"I have to start making a list of who's in my top bracket," he said. "Because right now I don't even have a favorite let alone a favorite."
Two of the schools that continue to make the strongest push for Wilson are Ohio State and Tennessee. Wilson said the new staff in Knoxville has made it clear that he's a priority.
"I talked to [special teams coordinator] Coach [Mark] Elder for about a good hour or so yesterday," Wilson said. "He was telling me about how they get one call during the month of May and they wanted to make it early so they could tell me they want me to get up there, check out the facilities and meet the coaches."
Wilson said the possibility of staying close to home is something that intrigues his family.
"They're starting to impress me a lot," Wilson said of Tennessee. "My family would like for me to stay close to home but I'm really indifferent about that."
As far as the Buckeyes, Wilson said he continues to be in regular contact with staff.
"I've been talking with them frequently," he said. "They just keep me in touch with me and let me know about the program and how much they love me."
