ATLANTA, Ga Lloyd Summerall has a new high school, but the four-star defensive end’s recruitment hasn’t missed a beat since he transferred to Lakeland (Fla.) High. In fact, it seems to be picking up steam already.

On Wednesday, Summerall said that LSU is beginning to come on strong, as the Tigers are poised to join Florida State, Florida, Miami, Nebraska and others at the top of his recruitment. Summerall is starting to plot official visits for the fall and plans to sign with the school of his choice in December.

Asked which schools currently stand out, Summerall got to the point. He sees no reason to create mystery for mystery’s sake.

“All my Florida schools,” he said. “The Georgia, LSU and Nebraska. Nebraska has been in the mix.”

IN HIS WORDS

--“I want to check out Clemson. I’m going to visit Florida and Florida State again, I definitely want to get to Nebraska and Penn State.”

--“For officials, I know I want to go to LSU. That’s one I know for a fact I’m going to take. They just kind of got in the mix and made me a priority guy and they want me to come down there. I heard they have a Tiger on campus. I like Tigers. That’s my favorite animal. I need to see that.”

-- “Of course, I want to visit all the Florida schools. And Auburn wants me to come down too.”

-- “I want to get an official to Nebraska, no doubt. I don’t when. I hear they sell out every game.”

RIVALS REACTION: Summerall once said he intended to stay close to home for college, so it stands to reason that the Florida schools are the teams to beat here. Florida State is thought to be the leader at this junction but the gators and, to a lesser extent, Miami remain involved. His official visits could certainly change things, as Nebraska, LSU and other continue to lurk in the weeds.
