Rivals250 DT takes in Penn State win

Four-star defensive tackle Jason Kates out of Harrisburg (Pa.) joined his teammate LeSean McCoy up to the Ohio State-Penn State game in State College. The 6-foot-2, 324-pounder had a good time and discussed his thoughts on Penn State's impressive victory.
"It was a really good game and the atmosphere was crazy up there, they were wild and it was just a lot of fun," he said. "I thought Penn State's defense played great and did a good job out there controlling Ohio State.

"On the visit I also got a chance to talk to Larry Johnson and Joe Paterno. They both asked me how I'm doing and talked about the game especially the defensive side of the ball and where I could help them."
Did the visit draw Kates closer to the in-state school?
"I don't know, I just went up there to watch the game. That's all I don't think the outcome affected me one way or the other."
The Rivals250 prospect doesn't plan to take any more unofficial visits.
"I'm done with the unofficials and now I'm focusing on taking my officials probably after the season in December and January," he said. "I don't know who I'll take them to."
Even without McCoy, Kates and the rest of Bishop McDevitt are off to a 6-0 record.
