Rivals250 DT schedules surprise official

Four-star defensive tackle Tydreke Powell has scheduled a fourth official visit. The 6-foot-3, 298-pounder out of Ahoskie (N.C.) Hertford County plans to take the surprise trip this weekend with teammate Danny Dembry.
"I'm scheduled a fourth visit for this weekend to East Carolina," he said. "I just wanted a chance to get out of town for a bit. One of my teammates was going, and I wanted to go with him. I'm looking to go up there and have some fun this weekend.

"Honestly I can say I'm not really looking at East Carolina, but things might change over the weekend. We'll see what happens. No matter what, I do want to go and see a friendly homey environment. I want to be able to get around the players and coaches to see how they are in person."
Currently Powell is favoring three schools.
"I'm still pretty open with my top three of Virginia Tech, North Carolina and Penn State," he said. "I want to go on those visits and see how they come up. If something is good I may just go ahead and commit."
What stands out about each of the leaders for the Rivals250 star?
"Virginia Tech, I like the way they play the game of football and how they win. I love the way they stack the defensive tackles and use stunt moves and things like that," he said. "Carolina, everybody growing up would love to play there. I've got to give them a shot. As for Penn State, they have always been in the picture since I went there last spring although not quite as much as Carolina."
