Rivals250 DT down to five

Four-star defensive tackle Reggie Ellis has cut his list of schools to five. Rivals caught up with the 6-foot-2, 278-pounder to find out which programs are his finalists.
"I guess you could say I'm down to Penn State, Alabama, Pittsburgh, Illinois and Maryland. I'm not looking at anyone else," he said. "I'm not sure about my official visits yet.

"I've got ones scheduled to Alabama (October 20th) and Illinois (September 29th). Now, I'm in the process of scheduling other officials. I want to go on those to see more of what the schools have to offer and the tradition. I haven't exactly established what will make me be able to decide between them."
What made these five programs stand out?
"These schools have so many great things to offer me," he said. "They have great tradition on defense and they are all either winning programs or up and coming."
With a cut in place, Ellis is focused on the season as his team is off to a 1-2 start.
"It's going great," he said. "We're off to a slow start, but we're going to pick it up this week. We have great talent, we play physical and need to execute.
"I've been playing well. I could be great; there are just a few more things I need to work on. I want to improve my hand placement and ability off the ball."
