The Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge presented by adidas is always a major event in terms of recruiting news and the 2019 edition is no different. This year, Rivals250 defensive tackle Dallas Walker elected to not only cut his list to three, but also to announce his decision during the on-field portion of the event on Tuesday. But before he reveals his choice, Rivals.com caught up with Walker to break down his finalists, Kentucky, Auburn and Texas A&M.
IN HIS WORDS
"I was just ready to make my decision and I thought what better place to do it then here in Atlanta at the Five-Star Challenge."
KENTUCKY: "I just took my official visit up there. I thought it went well. I enjoyed talking with the coaching staff and the environment. I spent a little time with the players and everything. I liked the facilities and everything like that. They have Justin Rogers committed and they told me that I would fit well with him because I'm versatile and I can play defensive end and defensive tackle. They said they really love my character, too, they said it's more than just football. I've really enjoyed it every time I've been up there and with them winning a lot of games now it shows they are going in the right direction.
AUBURN: "I have liked Auburn for a while now and I've really built a good bond with the coaching staff there, even before they offered me. I went down there and visited and i liked it and then they came back and saw me during the spring and that's when I got offered. I haven't taken an official visit yet but I might do that during the fall. I was going to take an official last week but my mom couldn't make it. We have been talking, not as much as we were initially. I'm still going to look at them, even after I commit, because I didn't get a chance to take that visit with my mom."
TEXAS A&M: "I have been talking to them but the decision to take an official visit sort of came together quickly I was going to take an unofficial first. But I had been talking to Coach Elko has been staying in contact with me and recruiting me and decided to make it an official. We have a great relationship. We have been talking a lot and he's been telling me great things about the program and how they are going to take the next step. It was easier to get down there that way and I really enjoyed it. It was my first time on campus and it felt like a family The whole community down there is behind the program 100 percent. Everywhere has a nice campus but they were backing up everything they were saying with fact."
