The state of West Virginia doesn't often produce top flight talent which is why it is always so important for the Mountaineers to keep the best in-state players from heading to other schools. West Virginia accomplished that goal with the commitment of Rivals250 defensive lineman Dante Stills out of Fairmount (W.V.) Fairmont Senior.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

"I honestly think there is something special going on at West Virginia," Stills said. "The athletes that are committed there right now are the real deal. People talk about stars but I think these guys are the real deal. I’ll be able to handle business with my brothers. We can do so much in the Big 12. I know the environment and the atmosphere so well and I’m up there all the time to see my brother.

"I can play all across the defensive line and still rush the passer," he said. "I can go in and handle my business.

"The coaching staff has been telling me to not hold back," said Stills. "I can come in and do my thing. Everything will fall into place."

RIVALS' REACTION

Stills is a massive addition for West Virginia and a can't-miss prospect. The best player in the state, the Mountaineers had to get his commitment or face some tough questions. Stills' father was a star at West Virginia and his brother is a freshman there now so there are clearly a lot of connections for Stills before you even talk about the efforts of the coaching staff and the relationships with the current players. Scheme-wise Stills is just what the doctor ordered for the West Virginia defensive line. His ability to play the run and the pass make him an every down player and his positional versatility will cover for other areas of weakness on West Virginia's defensive front. There's no way around it; Stills is a huge addition for West Virginia.
