Rivals250 DE Otis interest continues to rise

Rivals250 to watch defensive end Norkethius Otis had a big junior season. The year has resulted in major interest from colleges across the country and already seven scholarship offers.
"He did great this season, I think he had 111 tackles and 11 sacks," Otis' uncle, Eric said. "He earned all-conference and was nominated to the Under Armor All-American Bowl.

"As a player, he gets to the ball. He's very aggressive, very enthusiastic about the game and he is like a machine. He goes across the field to make plays and doesn't stop until the whistle."
Otis is getting looked at by a number of schools at either linebacker or defensive end.
So far, Otis has pulled in seven scholarships from the likes of Duke, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, NC State, South Carolina and East Carolina.
According to his father, Clemson, Notre Dame, Michigan, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Illinois, Kansas State and Florida State are also interested.
At this time, Otis is taking a break from unofficial visits.
"We're just kind of laying low," he said. "We visited a few places last year and we're trying not to get distracted by wasting time at schools that haven't offered. We want to make sure we visit all the schools that have offered and that are in the top of our listing."
Does Otis like anybody at this point in time?
"I can only speak of the offers of course, but he likes Florida, Duke, North Carolina and South Carolina looks pretty good," he said. "He's looking at other schools, but we can only speak of the ones who have offered."
As Otis continues to gain interest, colleges are quickly figuring out he's just as good of a player off the field as on.
"He's a dog on the field. He doesn't have any friends on the field," he said. "He is very respectful and easy to get along with off of it. He's a gentleman and very pleasant and humble."
