Rivals250 DE enjoys NC State

Defensive end Derrick Morgan out of Coatesville, Pa. attended camp at North Carolina State recently. The 6-foot-4, 260-pounder had a good visit to Raleigh. Did the trip sway him any closer to a leader?
"My trip to North Carolina State went really well, I liked that college a lot," he stated. "The first day I got there I did camp for a bit running agility drills and then I toured the campus. Coach Stroud showed me the dorms and campus and I liked the area a lot. I particularly liked the facilities. They are top of the line.

"When I was up there I also got to meet with Chuck Amato. He and coach Stripling told me exactly where I stand and just about everything I needed to know about their program. Overall I can say I had a good trip."
Despite a good visit, the Rivals250 prospect still claims no leaders.
"I don't really have a favorite at this time," he said. "I'm going to have a top five by the end of summer and I am planning to take all five of my official visits. Basically I'm looking for a school with a good academic part. It would be nice if the school isn't too far away from home and I want to make sure I get along with the coaches and players real well."
Morgan plans to take a few more visits this summer.
"I'm going to Ohio State on July 1st and Boston College on July 8th," he said. "I'm also considering a trip to Penn State sometime too. I want to see what happens on these trips when I get there. I think all of them will give me a better understanding about the schools and should make my decision a little easier."
Last season the four-star prospect earned all-conference and area honors after registering ten sacks.
