Rivals250 defensive end Jason Ankrah officially announced his decision this past week. The 6-foot-4, 248-pounder made his pledge between offers from Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Maryland, Michigan and others.
"I committed to Nebraska earlier this week on Monday or Tuesday," he said. "I kept it low until I called other coaches to let them know and thank them for recruiting me."

"He was excited," he said. "I called him and he told me I made his week. He was very excited and he was going to look after me and take care of me. He told me I chose the right place."
A few factors played into Ankrah's choice for the Cornhuskers.
"The people there are cool, the atmosphere is amazing and it's a place I want to be," he said. "The coaching staff, I like all of them. I felt comfortable with them and the players are cool, outgoing and fun.
"They are a brand new staff and went 8-4 this past year. They shouldn't have lost two games and could have been 10-2. I'm anxious to see what they do the next couple years. I also like Coach Pelini. He's known for defenses and how much he cares about his players. He's a religious guy and those things caught my eye."
Did anything else stick out about Nebraska?
"The football part is amazing, the facilities are, wow."
As far as playing time, Ankrah has a chance to jump in immediately.
"They said if I come in and work hard like I did in high school I have a chance of playing as a freshman," he said. "They have some people leaving and they can put me in the rotation."
Ankrah gave a final thought.
"I believe in my decision and I'm happy I'm a Cornhusker."
