Rivals250 DB Lewis talks Gators, Tigers, Aggies

Class of 2015 Rivals250 defensive back Xavier Lewis already has a top five, but he said that three schools will be guaranteed official visits before he makes a commitment.
"I have three places that I know I'll visit," he said. "LSU, Texas A&M and Florida."

The Tigers are the closest thing Lewis has to a hometown team, and he said they've been showing plenty of interest as of late.
"It's home," he said. "I grew up around them and that was the childhood favorite. They show me a lot of love and I show a lot of love back."
While Texas A&M has made headlines with a high-powered offense over the past few seasons, Lewis said the Aggies coaches are selling him on the chance to be a defensive weapon.
"They're telling me that they need a playmaker to come in and make a difference in the secondary," Lewis said of the Aggies. "They need somebody that is physical on the outside and they're really recruiting me hard. I was down there in February for the junior day."
When it comes to the Gators, they're on the outside looking in, but Lewis said he wants to get a closer look at the program before he makes a decision.
"I'm going to definitely go there this summer because I've never been before and I want to see what Gainesville is like," he said. "They're really telling me about how guys from Louisiana can have success there and me and the area recruiter, Derek Lewis, have a really good relationship."
