Rivals250 DB Jamyest Williams sets decision date, where will he land?

Rivals250 defensive back Jamyest Williams has offers from schools from all over the country, but Tuesday night on Twitter he cut his list to five finalists -- Georgia, South Carolina, Ohio State, Tennessee and Clemson-- and also announce his intentions to announce a commitment on August 27. Williams has taken several visits to all three schools and appears to have made up his mind, but which school has the edge? We break down the odds for the three programs most likely to land Williams at the end of the month.

The Favorite: South Carolina

The Gamecocks have made Williams a priority since the new staff arrived in Columbia and his relationship with defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson is a major reason South Carolina has emerged as the team to beat. Williams was on campus late last month at the Gamecocks last major recruiting event of the summer and the school's coaches felt confident following the trip.

The Underdog: Georgia

The Bulldogs were long considered the favorite to land Williams, who has long considered himself an Athens native. Georgia was one of the first programs to start seriously recruiting Williams early in his career and the school's interest in him carried over when the new staff came into the school during the offseason. However, Georgia already has three defensive backs committed and hasn't been chasing Williams with the same type of aggression as the Gamecocks.

The Wildcard: Ohio State

The Buckeyes recently added a commitment from 2018 state of Georgia five-star Emory Jones from Georgia and have a commitment from Williams' former teammate and Rivals100 prospect Isaiah Pryor as well. But there hasn't been a ton of buzz about the relationship between the two parties and Williams hasn't visited since back in the spring. But stranger things have happened in recruiting and it's tough to ever count out Urban Meyer and company.
