CEDAR HILL, Tex. -- Since releasing a Top 8 following his appearance at the Dallas event of the Rivals 3 Stripe Camps presented by adidas, Rivals250 center Branson Bragg has been the focal point of plenty of attention - particularly following a quick stop by Texas while in Austin for the Texas Relays track event on Easter weekend.
At the Rivals camp, he mentioned that LSU and Oklahoma are on his shortlist of schools to visit next, but while at the Under Armour All-America Camp at Cedar Hill High School this past weekend, he mentioned that Texas A&M may be jumping to the front of that line.
“I think that I’ll get down there for the spring game because I want to see Coach (Jim) Turner in action - I want to see him coaching his guys,” he said. “That’s one thing that I’ve seen at other schools that I haven’t seen at A&M yet. That’s the main thing - I’ve talked to a lot of the coaches, I want to see them work.”
Bragg was last in College Station for a junior day in February and said that he and his family had a good time during their opportunity to sit down and talk with new head coach Jimbo Fisher.
“He’s just a genuine guy, he’s just easy to talk to,” he said. “I was there with my dad and my grandpa and we just sat in his office and just talked.”
Other than that, Bragg doesn’t seem overly concerned about when or which visits he’ll be taking in the coming weeks. Much of that seems to be with his comfort in the opinions and relationships that he has built with the remaining schools in his list of finalists, which also includes Arkansas, Michigan State, Oklahoma State and Stanford.
